Bodiless lacquerware is a signature product of Fuzhou, China. Its unique workmanship makes it extremely light compared to other lacquerware due to its lack of a “body”. Most lacquerware requires a base, commonly metal or wood, but for bodiless lacquerware, they are skilfully removed with a special technique.
