One of the most recognizable Chinese symbol, the shuangxi or double happiness in a convenient handy package. Created by combining two Chinese characters for happiness, this symbol can be found plastered all over during Chinese wedding celebrations. This small vase here may have participated and witnessed many happy occasions, it has been around for more hundred years mind you.

While double happiness porcelain may not be the rarest around. there is something special about this particular one. Notice the slight difference in the blue glazed used for painting the double happiness character and the peony with vines (represents endless fortune)?
